Arts Council of Big Sky Summer Events


The Arts Council of Big Sky is a non-profit organization in Big Sky. ACBS provides the Big Sky community with a wide variety of offerings to please both residents and visitors alike.

In the summer the sounds of Big Sky come alive at the Meadow Village Concert Stage, one of the most beautiful venues in the state for outdoor music. We host a free concert every Thursday evening at the pavilion from July to September, featuring the best in national touring musicians performing in a truly spectacular setting. The main concert stage is located in the Big Sky Town Center on Ousel Falls Road. ACBS provides the Big Sky community with a wide variety of offerings to please both residents and visitors alike.

July 4: Free concert featuring the funky rhythm and blues sounds of Freddy Pink at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors, kids activities, fireworks at dark.

July 9: Strings Under the Big Sky, featuring members of the Muir String Quartet, annual fund-raiser for local school music programs. Event will be held at the Talus Room at the Big Sky Resort. For tickets call 995-2742.

July 15: Free concert featuring the Infamous Stringdusters, bluegrass from Nashville, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

July 22: Free concert featuring the Ian McFeron Band, rootsy Americana, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

July 24: The Arts Council of Big Sky presents Jeni Fleming with the String Orchestra of the Rockies, 7 p.m. at the Meadow Village Pavilion in Big Sky. Performance will feature Jeni Fleming band performing with orchestra and brass. Tickets are $20, kids 10 and under free. Tickets will be available at Cactus Records, at First Security Bank in Big Sky, and online at www.bigskyarts.org. Sponsored by First Security Bank.

July 29: Free concert featuring the Young Dubliners, Celtic rock, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

July 30: Free concert featuring the Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, indie folk rock from California, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors. Kick-off party for the annual Big Sky Country Fair and Festival of the Arts.

August 2: Montana Shakespeare in the Parks presents "Julius Caesar," 6 p.m. in the Town Center, free.

August 5: Free concert featuring Lisa Haley and the Zydekats, Cajun zydeco, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

August 12: Free concert featuring the Brothers of the Baladi, world music with Middle Eastern influences, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

August 15: The Arts Council of Big Sky and the Carroll Toepffer Memorial Fund presents the United States Air Force Brass in Blue ensemble, 3 p.m. at the Meadow Village Pavilion. This performance is free.

August 19: Free concert featuring Orgone, Afro-beat funk and soul, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

August 26: Free concert featuring the Cold Hard Cash Show, performing renditions of favorite Johnny Cash tunes, at the Town Center Pavilion, 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors.

September 3: The Arts Council of Big Sky presents country music legend Willie Nelson in concert at the Meadow Village Pavilion. Tickets are $45/advance and $55/door. Kids 6 and under are free. Tickets go on sale June 4 and will be available at Cactus Records, the Cave Spirits and Gifts in Big Sky, and online at www.bigskyarts.org.
