History comes alive during Discover Travelers' Rest, a three part festival series at Travelers' Rest State Park in Lolo. Festivals take place from 12:00pm - 4:00pm one Saturday during June, July, and August. Each monthly event features an array of fun, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, programs, and activities about the history and culture of western Montana. June 19, learn about Tools and Technologies, including flint-knapping, traditional Native American technologies, and historical firearms. July 17, highlights of the Cooking and Food festival are a Dutch oven cooking competition, dishes from the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and traditional food and cooking practices of the Plateau Tribes. August 14, is Work and Play, featuring activities such as hide-tanning, moccasin-making, and Native American games. Make your own 18th century replica toy.
